Magene releases L508 radar rear light for rider safety - endurance.biz
Magene has released its L508 radar tail light, which makes Magene the second brand after Garmin to offer a rear light product with radar technology.
In July, Magene listed its L508 offering on the official website and Facebook feeds and it is now available for purchase on multiple selling platforms.
Magene Technology has a wide range of cycling products, including bike trainers, power meters, bike computers, sensors and radar tail lights. Hector Dong, Magene’s Product Director, said “Cycling safety deserves effort from more brands.
“The release of L508 radar tail light is a further innovation brought by Magene. For riders, Garmin is no longer the only choice.”
The product is compatible with Garmin, Wahoo, Magene, Bryton bike computers and watches. The Magene L508 radar tail light gives visual and audible alerts to warn of vehicles approaching from behind – up to 140m away and at 10-120km/h relative speed.
When a vehicle suddenly moves from behind within 140m, the L508 can turn into flashing mode giving motorists stronger warning of the cyclist ahead.
The radar tail light is equipped with a high-precision acceleration sensor, to detect even slight braking by the rider and trigger three seconds of highlight flashing. According to Magene, normal oscillation and small bumps wouldn’t trigger false alarms.
The rear light also supports five light modes including solid, flashing, pulse, peloton and only-radar mode. After connecting the device to the Magene Utility App, users are also able to customize the light’s interval time and flashing pattern.
Featuring up to16 hours of battery life, the device also supports vibration sensing, and automatically enters sleep mode after 5 minutes in an idle state to save energy. It wakes up when the bicycle is again in use..
The L508 has a suggested retail price of US$129.
